There are many different camera angles and shots used in this music video. This music video is a rap diss towards LL Cool J. This is first shown in the close up of the guy in a red Adidas tracksuit - you can infer that this is LL Cool J because of the clothes he's wearing, plus the hat and chain are unique to his style. This camera angle is called a close up, this is effective because you can see the guns he is holding, the sound of guns is mentioned in the title 'click click'. This next camera shot is a wide shot, this is very effective because you can see all the rap members of Wu Tang Clan, the camera is slightly below eye level, with the camera at this level it makes the clan seem more menacing and intimidating.
As well as the camera being lower, the clan are also holding pistols, this shows that they mean what they say.
In this image the clan are shown in a lift at mid-length shot. The lift is significant because their album 'The W' tells a story about how they timetravel in a lift. In this shot they are also all pointing their guns at the camera (the audience), this is seen as threatening but is very effective because it makes us feel part of their story. This could also be seen as they are talking directly to us.
The next camera shots are action shots, we see the rapper 'Ghostface Killer' shooting back at the supposed 'LL Cool J' . This series of shots are very effective because you can see his facial expression which shows he is determined to stay alive. Plus in the shots I have chosen you can see the flash from the front of the gun, this makes it more realistic and makes it seem more professional. Both of these camera angles are in slow motion and they pan across the screen as Ghostface and one other person shooting others - https://vimeo.com/58786509 - the panoramic video starts at 2:20 and ends at 2:26.
The next camera angle I chose is another close up, but of 'U-God'. This image clearly shows him with a golden desert eagle.50. This shows the violent aspect of the video. The close up is very effective because you can see so much detail within the shot and you can still see all of the background movement and imagery.
There are a handful of closeups in this music video, but this next one is one of the most effective in my opinion. This is because you can see everything in the image in such detail. You can see 'Inspektah Deck' holding and cocking his pistol, signifying a shootout about to start. You can also see the 'Wu Tang bandanna' this is product placement. This is only seen in a few of the scenes of this video. But in this image is is the most seen and it is very,very clear.
This last image I chose is at mid-level and it is of 'LL Cool J'. In this image he has many bullet holes, this could mean that the notorious Wu Tang Clan have defeated him. This could also be seen as a threat towards LL Cool J, saying "if you beef us this is what will happen".
Film Studies Homework
The
film I decided to watch was ‘The GodFather’. This film is an action-thriller.
You could disagree with me and say that it’s an action film, but there are
aspects within the film that make it a thriller. These aspects are the dark lighting;
this is shown in the scene when Don Corleone is in the hospital. Also the
volatile weather is used within the GodFather II when the guards are searching
the grounds of Michael’s house for intruders. This film doesn’t follow all of
the typical cliché’s that are involved within films. There are many unique
features that other films don’t use, and these make the film even better. One
example of this is that the film uses is that you can’t guess what is going to
happen, this is because there are next to no cliché’s in this film.
