 Music Video Purposes

1. Promotion of a particular song
2. Promotion of the artist's album
3. Promotion of a particular artist
4. Promotion of and synergy with another media product
5. Increase income for the record company
6. Increasing the range of media an artist is active in

Fuse ODG - Tiffany
This music video is promoting the song Tiffany in a very successful way as it has added an easy and memorable dance to the video. The artist adds the dance 'Azonto' to the music video which makes it even easier to remember. The artist is also making more income for the record company because people will purchase the song or view it on free streaming sites to try and learn the dance. This makes 'Fuse ODG' earn more money because people will still want to listen to the track. This music video also increases the amount of media platforms the artist is involved in, this is because it involves many different diversities of people.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
This music video is promoting the song 'Thriller' in a very unique way. The video starts off as a scene from a movie, called Thriller and then goes into the song. The song song starts off by telling a story. Michael was the most notorious artist in those days and probably is still the most world known artist. The video also has a dance implemented into it, this also makes it more visually attractive. Michael is a zombie during the dance with all the other monsters, this could link to the beginning of the video when Michael is a werewolf from the movie. This video is also promoting Michael Jackson, although he was one of the worlds most known artists at the time, some people still didn't know about him. This song helped him to rise to fame in his adulthood, because he also sang as a child. But this song is world known and everyone knows or should know the chorus and part of the dance. At the time of this video there were not many black artists, this also made Michael more unique because he could dance and he had rhythm and the dance was easy to pick up. Michael Jackson was and still is such a big artist, this song and video would've increased his income massively because everyone would want to do the dance.

Eminem - The Real Slim Shady
This music video is promoting Eminem, who was an up and coming white rapper, who is probably one of the best rapper in the rappers in the world. This song is good because it promotes Eminem in many different successful ways. The chorus say 'Im slim shady, yes i'm the real shady', this is catchy and easy to remember. Also because Eminem is known to have brain damage and the video is in a nursing home, this could be taken as humorous. As Eminem was signed to Dr.Dre's record label, this makes more income for Dre, and the more records Eminem sells, the more money Dre ends up with. This song also promotes the song because it has the name of the song in the chorus, this is very easy to remember and is catchy. This also promotes Eminem's album as the song is featured on it. If its some peoples first time listening to Eminem and they like his style, they'll purchase the album. This makes more money for Eminem and Dr.Dre as Eminem was still under his record label. This also increases the media Eminem is active in, because the video shows he has a sense of humour, a slight twisted sense of humour. As its called 'The real slim shady' this shows that Eminem is the only one and everyone should get ready for his takeover in the music industry.

Promotion of AbraCadabra (Abz)
The artist started off at 'Bl@ckBox', this YouTube channel is smaller grime artists, they go on the channel to freestyle and show off their talent. Abz is originally from Tottenham, you can infer this from his rap, as he raps about 'lock mans ting from Tottenham to Ghana'. The original freestyle was 9minutes 12seconds long. The freestyle was split into two segments, the first segment is used in the remix with Krept and Konan. The Bl@ckbox edition has over 600,00views, thats a lot for a small grime channel. Abz remixes his work with Krept and Konan, who are extremely famous and have many songs featured in films 'e.g. Brotherhood'. When he joins with Krept and Konan his views increase to over 3million, thats a huge difference. Doing a track with Krept and Konan increased his popularity and he is now known by over 3million people. As Krept and Konan have made their name in the music industry, it was obvious that Abz would get known if and when he made a track with them. The views jumped from 626,760 on Bl@ckBox to 3,139,540 in the space of 4months. The video changed drastically, as it went from a booth to a music video.
